About Maggie MA, LPC (Me!)

I am a lover of story-telling and a cheerleader for those I encounter in life. My path to becoming a therapist started with my own experiences of trauma and mental health challenges that I needed help to overcome. Along the way I spent 3 years guiding therapeutic backpacking trips in the heart of the San Juan Mountains, spent a year as a school counselor for Mancos middle and high school students, and spent the last 4 years doing home-based family therapy through the local Multisystemic Therapy program.

When I am not a therapist I spend a lot of time dilly-dallying with my dog, husband, and friends. I love rafting, herbalism, and anything that gives me an excuse to turn my phone off and get dirt underneath my fingernails! I like to play my guitar and listen to music that makes me cry. I like to laugh at mindless TV shows. I like to make yummy food - all the good stuff.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with training in Multisystemic Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, Narrative Therapy and Internal Family Systems. I blend informed practice with my humanity, sense of humor, love for irony, and strengths focused attitude. I operate from a person-centered place meaning that you will drive your own treatment. My specialties include but are not limited to: trauma, chronic anxiety, and relationships.

I would love to connect with you!
